They should have called the Wii U something else. I think there's a reason they were voted dev of the year, have had the strongest convention/conference showings, and seem to get great user feedback. I guess what I'm saying, is that Nintendo is doing everything that I would personally expect Nintendo to do, and then some.

Out of all of them, I think Steam is the best, but then, I don't expect Nintendo to be like Valve. (though they do seem to be slowly branching out a bit) They could definitely tweak this or that, but then so could just about any service. They have always primarily been about games, and less for other forms of entertainment. They have the major streaming apps, and other tools available just to the point that they need them. They aren't trying to be MS or Sony, and never have tried to be MS or Sony. Simple to use, caters to a wide family type audience, and has a lot of goofy, but fun, features. Their online ecosystem matches their whole aesthetic. Shortsightedness is obviously a virtue to you and sega but it isn't for Nintendo.Īs to the "infrastructure" they sure are doing everything they should be. Nintendo is playing the long smart game because they can. Nintendo does a great job of not fucking over their customer base the complete opposite of sega. Along with that they will also leave a bad taste in people who paid full prices mouth. They would just be losing revenue on each sale of each wii-u to get sales 1 year earlier then they otherwise would. Lowering their price is a bad move because the people waiting to buy a wii-u at a lower price aren't going anywhere. Most of the things you say Nintendo should do are the exact opposite of what they will and should do. Nintendo is making money and they are making smart moves.

They aren't dropping the value of the console abruptly They aren't lower their price way below the cost of their machine This didn't help and lowered the perceived value of the console and it failed Sega did in fact lower their price way WAY below sony Such foolishness in just your first paragraph.
